Hyper Light Recall PROJECT
These are from a game! ... Yes, you can trust me!

This last model was an inspiration model, created in my spare time. More details are in the model notes

I absolutely adore the visual style of Hyper Light Drifter. It's simple, yet mysterious art style, combined with pixel art allows for some of the most beautiful, awe inspiring, and sometimes horrifying graphics and gameplay I've ever seen. It's truly inspiring.
For a long time after playing the game, I've wanted to hold the weapons that the Drifter (the main character) wields in-game. One of the easiest ways for me to do that is to use the power of virtual reality, and I have just the game to use them in!
Robo Recall, an amazing VR game in it's own right, has an incredible mod kit that allows you to modify any weapon currently available in the game, adding your own models, animations, sounds, and anything else you can create, using their Blueprint system. Using this mod kit, I'll be able to take my voxel weapon models, inspired by Hyper Light Drifter, and not only hold them in VR, but animate them and interact with them too!
All of these models were created using MagicaVoxel and Blender, as well as Aseprite for pixel measurements. I also created a voxel version of the Drifter's sprite, shown here.
Over time, I'll be adding all of these weapons to Robo Recall, but for now, take a quick look at the first one to make it in, the Magnum!
And there's more weapons where that came from! Check out the Robo Recall Mod Project to see all the mods I've made for the game!
